The UGREEN NAS Privacy Policy Summarized Version aims to help you learn and understand how we collect, process, and use personal information, as well as how we protect your privacy. Refer to the full UGREEN NAS Privacy Policy for more detailed information.In the event of possible variations across the translated versions (Korean, Japanese, and German ), the English version shall prevail.

 

1. How We Collect and Use Your Personal Information

1.1.Account registration and login: We collect your phone number (for Chinese mainland users) or email address (for users in other countries and regions) to send you a a verification code for account verification and password setting as well as your identification information (profile photo and nickname) to help you register and login, protect your account security, bind UGREEN NAS devices, and send important notifications via SMS or email. If you use the local account, we do not collect any personal data of you, except where you have expressly consented or where you voluntarily provide personal information to us, such as by enrolling in a device analysis and improvement program. If you use the two-factor authentication feature, we also collect the emergency verification email address you provide voluntarily to send you a verification code as an alternative login method.

1.2.Device Binding: We collect the UGREEN cloud account, device model, device system version, device serial number (SN), MAC address, IP address, UGREENlink ID (if you enable the UGREENlink feature), user-defined device name, device connectivity status (online/offline/sleep), device access role (owner/shared user), and warranty expiration date (visible to administrators only) to identify and link your device for the UGREEN NAS device management.

1.3.Login History and Trusted Device Management: We record your UGREEN cloud account, login time, operation history, location information, login location, IP address, operating system type, device model, device name, last login time, login history, and trusted device list to improve account security, and offer you the option to set devices as trusted to avoid repeated authentication.

1.4.Technical Support Ticket (for users outside the Chinese mainland): We collect the UGREEN NAS device serial number (SN), country/region, and issue description. You may also provide additional details such as client type, NAS connection method, issue category, and functional module to assist with troubleshooting. Upon ticket submission, your nickname and UGREEN cloud account will be automatically associated. This information is used to assist in troubleshooting technical issues, contact you, and deliver effective solutions.

1.5.LAN Device Search: We collect the device name, IP address, MAC address, UGREEN NAS device serial number (SN), operating system version, device status information (initialization status and online/offline state), and Wake-on-LAN (WOL) status to ensure search accuracy when using find.ugnas.com to search for LAN devices.

1.6.UGREENlink Service: We collect the UGREENlink ID, UGREEN NAS device serial number (SN), IP address, and UGREENlink routing port information to enable remote connections when you use UGREENlink.

1.7. Biometric Authentication for UGREEN Login and NAS Safes: To enable users to log into UGREEN NAS App or unlock the UGREEN NAS Safes through the biometric authentication feature (including authentication via face ID and fingerprint on supported models). We rely on access tokens stored locally on your device (e.g., mobile phone) for authentication. We neither access, store, nor transmit any biometric data.

1.8.Technical Support: We may need to collect your account information and contact details, UGREEN NAS device serial number (SN), NAS product model, UGREEN NAS device system version number, NAS connection method, IP address, operational logs (detailing system activities, service logs, error logs, and logs of user-initiated operations such as pages visited, click behaviors, feature usage, session duration, and operation frequency), and client information (including operating system type and version, and software version information)

1.9.User Experience Surveys (for users outside the Chinese mainland): We may invite you to participate in the survey and collect and use your email address and UGREEN cloud account for sending surveys to improve our services (only for non-Chinese mainland users). With your consent, we may also send marketing communications to your email address.

1.10.Independent and Third Party Services: UGREEN Nas integrates certain third-party services and standalone functional modules, such as the App Center and third-party cloud storage services. If you choose to connect third-party cloud storage services, your prior authorization is required. We request only the file access permissions necessary to enable file uploading, downloading, and synchronization, and may temporarily store access tokens locally on your NAS device. We do not access or share the content of your files to other third parties, and your use of other UGREEN Nas features will not be affected if you choose not to connect such services. When you enable the App Center feature, we collect basic device information; if you submit an application report or complaint, we collect relevant issue details and contact information solely for the purpose of handling your request. Any personal information processed by third-party applications downloaded and used through the App Center is handled independently by the relevant third parties in accordance with their own rules and policies, and any associated risks or liabilities shall be borne solely by you and the applicable third party.

1.11.Operation and Security: We collect crash logs, system version, device model, software version number, Identifier for Vendor (IDFV), Android ID, Open Anonymous Device Identifier (OAID), and client logs (which may contain device status and user activity records essential for reproducing issues) to maintain service stability.

1.12.Device Configuration Backup and Restoration: We collect information about your device configuration, including users and user groups, file services, device connection information (including UGREENlink, DDNS, and portal settings), end devices, domains, LDAP, time and language, notification, network, security, indexing services, and system updates, to facilitate backup and restoration.

1.13.Device analysis and improvement program (For the Chinese mainland users only): We may invite you to participate in this program to analyze and enhance our products and services. Your participation is optional, and you may opt out at any time. If you voluntarily participate in this program, we may collect the following data: account ID, device ID, IP address, device information, location data, network information, performance metrics, page visits, click behaviors, browsing activities, search queries, feature usage statistics, session duration, operation frequency, and crash diagnostics. This data is solely used for statistical analysis and will not be utilized to identify any individual user.

 

2. How we share, assign, and disclose your personal information

2.1.Use of Third Party SDK/API: Our products and services may contain third party SDK/API. The third parties may collect and process your information when you use these products and services. We recommend that you familiarize yourself with the third parties' privacy policies before using their services.

2.2.Sharing Personal Information: We will not share your personal information with third parties unless you explicitly authorize us to do so. Exceptions include without limitation: requirements of legal proceedings, protection of legal rights, Service Agreement compliance, protecting the public interest, compliance with your agreements with third parties, or academic research.

2.3.Personal Information Assignment: We will not assign your personal information to non-affiliated parties, unless required to do so under certain circumstances like legal requirements, mergers, or acquisitions. We will ensure your information is secure in such transactions and that the new holder of your information will also be bound by this Policy.

3.2.Correcting Your Personal Account Information: You can correct your personal information via the UGREEN NAS mobile client, PC client, or online account on the official website. Please contact us if you need to correct information that cannot be corrected online.

3.3.Changing or Revoking Authorization: You may change or revoke your authorization for us to use your personal information. Revoking authorization will not affect the processing of any previously authorized information.

3.4.Deleting Personal Information: You can delete some personal information via the mobile client, PC client, or official website. Please contact us to delete other information or for specific circumstances (such as illegal information processing).

3.5.Account Closure: You have the right to close your UGREEN cloud account and can do so via the mobile client, PC client, or official website. You will need to first unbind any third party social platform accounts used to log in to UGREEN NAS.

3.6.Obtaining Copies of Your Personal Information: You have the right to obtain a copy of your personal information, which can be requested via the designated email address.

3.7.Restricting Information System Automated Decision-making Features: You are entitled to request explanations or corrections of features based on automated decision-making processes to protect your legal rights.

3.8.Responding to Requests: We will respond to your requests within 15 business days after verifying your identity. Reasonable requests are typically processed free of charge. In certain statutory circumstances, we may not be able to respond to your request.
