Data Processing Instructions for Monitoring Center Functions

Data Processing Instructions for Monitoring Center Functions

These Instructions apply to the functions provided by the monitoring center of the NAS device you use. When you add a camera, view recordings, or enable event recognition or AI detection, we will process your personal information in accordance with these Instructions.

2. Special Notes on Sensitive Personal Information

Event Type

Sensitive Information

Your Control

Face detection/recognition

Facial biometric information

This function can be separately enabled or disabled. Separate authorization is required.

Human presence detection/Area intrusion/exit detection/Intrusion detection

Personal movement tracks

You may disable this function at any time.

License plate recognition

License plate numbers

This function can be separately enabled or disabled. You may disable this function at any time.

Unregistered unfamiliar faces and license plate numbers are retained for one month. You may mark a maximum of 500 faces and 500 license plate respectively, and manually delete the marked ones at any time.

3. Data Storage Location

(1) All video data and event detection results reported by third-party cameras are stored on the local NAS hard drives of your device.

(2) Our servers do not collect or store any video content or detection results whatsoever.

(3) When you view videos remotely, the video streams are encrypted and relayed through UGREENlink cloud servers; the relay servers do not store any video content.

4. Event Information Source

(1) Event information is divided into the following two categories:

l Information proactively reported by cameras: Third-party cameras report detection results via the ONVIF protocol (e.g., motion detection, face detection).

l Information detected by the local AI model: After you manually enable this function, the local AI model in the monitoring center will analyze video recordings and identify key events, including intrusion detection, face detection, vehicle detection, pet detection, and package detection.

(2) The local AI model detection function needs to be manually enabled by you. Events may contain sensitive personal information (e.g., facial data and movement tracks). All event types must be manually enabled or disabled by you.

(3) ONVIF event names are defined by camera manufacturers, and AI detection event names are defined by this system. While the names may vary between the two, they represent similar event types.

5. AI Notifications and AI-Based Retrieval

(1) AI notifications. After you enable the local AI model detection function, the system pushes summaries of events detected by the AI model to you. You may provide feedback on the accuracy of the notification information. AI notifications will be marked with an “AI” label on the interface.

(2) AI-based retrieval. The system creates a local index database  from the past 15 days, allowing you to search video recordings. Expired video recordings in the index database are automatically deleted.

6. Your Rights

Right

How to Exercise the Right

Right to information

Review these Instructions and the event recognition settings.

Right to decide/withdraw consent

Disable any type of event, withdraw face authorization, and disable local AI model detection. Withdrawal of consent shall not affect processing carried out based on your consent prior to such withdrawal.

Right to delete

When deleting a camera, you may choose to:

• Delete device only: The camera will be removed, while the previously stored recordings will be retained.

• Delete all: The camera and all associated recordings will be removed.

Note: Deletion is irreversible; please perform this operation with caution.

Right to manage user permissions management

Administrators may add or delete standard user accounts, and assign relevant permissions.

7. Administrator’s Responsibilities and Notes

If you are an administrator, before assigning permissions to other users, please ensure that:

(1) the authorized users have been informed of the contents of these Instructions; and

(2) you shall be responsible for all actions related to permission assignments.

By default, standard users can only view and download video recordings. Administrators may adjust the scope of relevant user permissions.

8. Your Responsibilities and Undertakings

Before adding a camera and using this function, please confirm that:

(1) you are the legitimate administrator of the camera or have obtained authorization to manage it;

(2) the camera installation location does not involve the private spaces of others (e.g., bedrooms or bathrooms) and the field of view of the camera does not cover public areas (e.g., streets, neighbors' yards, public corridors). Please properly adjust the angle of your camera to avoid collecting the personal information of unspecified third parties;

(3) you have obtained the necessary consent from the individuals being recorded, which permits the third-party camera to send their detection results to this system; and

(4) Special regional requirements. If you use the device in a country or region other than the place of purchase, you are solely responsible for understanding and complying with all applicable local laws and regulations, including those related to facial recognition. Please note that when the device is offline, its function availability may be determined solely based on the device serial number, which may not reflect your actual location. As a result, certain functions may still remain accessible in some restricted regions. Once the device is connected to the Internet, we will verify the function availability based on network or location information and restrict the usage where necessary. You shall bear the legal risks and liabilities arising from the use of the relevant functions in restricted or prohibited regions.
